Spring time is coming........

Valentine's Day is Tuesday!!!! Time is ticking.....

Come down to Tas Kafe (504 Main Street, Beacon) and pick up a classic Red Velvet cupcake. This cake is delicious and is made with no ref food coloring. The combo of cocoa powder and baking soda gives it its classic red hue. Topped with creamy cream cheese buttercream, this treat is sure to please anyone!! ALSO, we have cookies on sale also. Addicting Citrus Shortbread cookies in heart shapes sprinkled with dusting sugar in purple and pinks nicely wrapped in packages of 5. A must have with a cup of hot kafe. 

Market for Sunday, Jan 29th

Tomorrow at the Beacon Farmers' Market (Red Barn on the waterfront 11am-3pm) we will have Tas Kafe Mocha cupcakes again! Moist cake infused with coffee and Hersey's chocolate topped with rich coffee cream cheese buttercream then drizzled with chocolate ganache and finally topped with a coffee bean. If you have not tried this cupcake you must!

ALSO, Tonight is The Big Draw at the Red Barn on the Beacon Waterfront 7-10pm tickets are $15 or 2 for $25 benefiting Beacon Open Studios. There is an open bar and yummy snacks. Many local and national artists have submitted work on 6x8 paper. We will have mini white cake cupcakes topped with vanilla Swiss icing. Make sure you come out and support the artists. I have something in the show too besides the cakes!!!

The Beacon Farmers' Market

Every Sunday at the Beacon Farmers' Market (11am - 3pm in the Red Barn on the waterfront) you can find our yummy cupcakes under the Tas Kafe booth. This past Sunday we had Vanilla Lemon cupcakes this coming Sunday we will have Pink Lady - vanilla cake vanilla pink icing topped with candy pearls!!!! Mmmmmmm

Yummy Gingerbread Latte cupcakes and chocolaty Peppermint Mocha cupcakes are on rotation for the holiday season. The gingerbread latte cakes are moist and spicy topped with a lemon zest infused butter cream is a must try this season. Peppermint mocha cakes are moist chocolate cake with coffee topped with a butter cream made with crushed candy cane then drizzled with chocolate ganache and finished off with more crushed candy cane. So today I was feeling some what creative so I made a new sign for my muffins. Here are some pictures.

More Cake!

So the other day I got a coconut from the store. I did not know its plans for it yet but I knew I wanted to do something yummy. I decided to make a coconut cake with fresh coconut. First, it's strained of the coconut water, then it's placed in the oven to bake and then cracked open. Shredding the coconut meat reminded me of when I was young and my grandfather used to spend hours in the kitchen shredding coconut and making many, many of his infamous holiday rice puddings for the whole entire family. I watched him and helped him that one time and I was like WOW.

 So, here are the pictures. The cake was delicious and went fast. Funny because it reminded of wedding cake. The fresh coconut was so good and such a difference from using store bought, pre-packaged stuff. The cake was dense and the frosting used was a 7-minute frosting which was super easy to ice. i still have to perfect my cake icing skills but this one looked better than the carrot cake, appearance wise. They will soon be available to the public. Enjoy the pictures.
